Hindi Movie Story:
Kismat is an Indian Hindi family drama film directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by T-Series in association with Home Box Office (HBO). The film stars Bobby Deol, Amrita Arora, Gurdas Maan, Paresh Rawal, Himani Shivpuri, Shakti Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in pivotal roles. Written by Mohit Suri, the film is a remake of the 2000 Telugu movie Kalyana Ramudu.
The film revolves around two rival factions, one led by the wealthy Yashpal Singh (Paresh Rawal) and the other led by the fierce and honourable Raghu (Bobby Deol), who is in love with his father's first wife, an orphan. Both the families share the same enemy, which is a barbaric robber and gang lord, Bhairav Singh (Suniel Shetty) and the fight to attain fame and fortune to vanquish the villain and restore the dignity of their family is led by the two men. The family members are from both sides of the feud and they gather at the wedding of Raghu, which results in a blood bath.

The names are different but the drama, passion, determination and family values are similar.
If you have to be a director, you have to be in it. Not to steal from Rajat Kapoor but really, to be an indie filmmaker is a tough way out.
I think no-one would argue that the Hindi film industry is a vast one, but there are only a handful of directors who make good ones.
Yet, some of them have been so kind to notice and appreciate a small game, that they have taken that game and elevated it into something really worthwhile.
Kismat is such a film and I think it belongs to either Mohit Suri (of the hugely underrated Awaara) or Rajat Kapoor (of the yet to be seen Tumhari Sulu).
